Ingredients

  • 1 oz Gin — Preferably botanical but not overly citrusy
  • 0.5 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.5 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  • 1 oz Sweet vermouth
  • 1 dash Orange bitters

Story

After asking for something more spirit-forward than the Chartreuse Swizzle, the conversation moved toward stirred classics. The first stop was a split-Chartreuse variation on the Bijou, using both Green and Yellow Chartreuse to balance intensity with softer honeyed notes.

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with cubed ice.
  2. Stir until thoroughly chilled and diluted.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist or cherry.

Notes

  • The original Bijou traditionally uses only Green Chartreuse; this version intentionally splits the Chartreuse base.
