Ingredients

  • 2.25 oz Gin — Hendrick's recommended
  • 0.5 oz Strega
  • 1 dash Orange bitters

Story

After establishing the Strega-based Alaska, I specified having Hendrick’s on hand. Because Hendrick’s is more delicate than a London dry, you suggested dialing back the Strega and the bitters significantly to avoid drowning out the gin’s signature rose and cucumber notes.

Method

  1. Add gin, Strega, and a light dash of bitters to a mixing glass with large ice cubes.
  2. Stir for 20–25 seconds; avoid over-dilution to maintain the gin’s nuance.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  4. Express lemon oils over the drink and garnish with a cucumber ribbon to bridge the floral flavors.

Notes

  • A garden-forward, soft companion to Witch’s Alaska — same template, different gin philosophy.
  • The cucumber ribbon isn’t just aesthetic — it’s a functional aromatic bridge for the Hendrick’s.
