Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin — Hendrick's recommended
  • 0.5 oz Mahia
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters

Story

I asked for a more elegant application for Mahia that wasn’t a sour. You suggested using it as a modifier in a Martini template. By pairing it with a botanical-heavy gin like Hendrick’s, we found that the Mahia acts similarly to a vermouth but adds a distinctive Mediterranean anise finish.

Method

  1. Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice until exceptionally cold.
  2. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist to highlight the citrus, or an olive for a more savory experience.
