Moroccan Martini
A botanical-forward Martini that uses Mahia as a modifier to introduce anise and fruit notes to a classic gin base.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Gin — Hendrick's recommended
- 0.5 oz Mahia
- 2 dashes Orange bitters
Story
I asked for a more elegant application for Mahia that wasn’t a sour. You suggested using it as a modifier in a Martini template. By pairing it with a botanical-heavy gin like Hendrick’s, we found that the Mahia acts similarly to a vermouth but adds a distinctive Mediterranean anise finish.
Method
- Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice until exceptionally cold.
- Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe.
- Garnish with a lemon twist to highlight the citrus, or an olive for a more savory experience.
