Paper Wings
A gin-based riff on the Paper Plane balancing citrus, Aperol, and Amaro Nonino with lighter botanical structure.
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Gin
- 0.75 oz Amaro Nonino
- 0.75 oz Aperol — Cocchi Americano can be substituted for a drier profile
- 0.75 oz Lemon juice
Story
Once the conversation moved into recognizable modern-classic structures, this became the gin-based answer to a Paper Plane. The major shift was replacing bourbon with gin to lighten the drink and let the botanicals interact more directly with Nonino’s alpine-orange profile.
Method
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard until cold.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe.
Notes
- “modern-classic” may need validation against your taxonomy list.
- The Cocchi Americano variation pushes the drink toward a sharper, more aromatic profile.
