Ingredients

  • 1 oz Black cherry shrub
  • 1 oz Non-alcoholic amaro
  • 0.5 oz Cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 0.25 oz Pomegranate molasses
  • 2 dashes Chocolate bitters — Non-alcoholic

Story

This drink comes from the initial request for “complex mocktail recipes” — pushing for harder-to-find ingredients and layered structure rather than simple juice builds. It emerged as the most explicitly bitter, spirit-like option in the first flight, and held up when the conversation later shifted toward body and depth without needing major restructuring.

Method

  1. Build all ingredients over a large cube in a rocks glass.
  2. Stir gently to integrate the shrub, amaro, and coffee.
  3. Express an orange peel over the top if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Uses shrub + coffee + amaro to replace the structural role that a base spirit would normally play.
