Black Cherry Amaro Spritz
A bitter, wine-like zero-proof spritz built from cherry shrub, non-alcoholic amaro, coffee, and pomegranate molasses for depth and structure.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Black cherry shrub
- 1 oz Non-alcoholic amaro
- 0.5 oz Cold brew coffee concentrate
- 0.25 oz Pomegranate molasses
- 2 dashes Chocolate bitters — Non-alcoholic
Story
This drink comes from the initial request for “complex mocktail recipes” — pushing for harder-to-find ingredients and layered structure rather than simple juice builds. It emerged as the most explicitly bitter, spirit-like option in the first flight, and held up when the conversation later shifted toward body and depth without needing major restructuring.
Method
- Build all ingredients over a large cube in a rocks glass.
- Stir gently to integrate the shrub, amaro, and coffee.
- Express an orange peel over the top if desired, then serve immediately.
Notes
- Uses shrub + coffee + amaro to replace the structural role that a base spirit would normally play.
