Ingredients

  • 2 oz Blanco tequila — Or use 1 1/2 oz tequila and 1/2 oz mezcal
  • 3/4 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  • 1/4 oz Agave syrup

Story

Once the conversation expanded beyond spirit-forward tequila drinks, I suggested something brighter and more floral while still keeping the cocktail served up. This drink evolved from the idea of an elegant Margarita cousin, with yellow Chartreuse providing herbal depth and the optional mezcal split adding smoke if you wanted a more Oaxaca-leaning profile.

Method

  1. Chill a coupe thoroughly.
  2. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard until fully chilled.
  4. Double strain into the chilled coupe.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel or edible flower.

Notes

  • Mezcal is optional in the build but included in spirits because it was part of the landed specification.
  • “Agave syrup” was omitted from spirits because it is a sweetener rather than a bottled spirit or modifier.
