Tequila Paper Plane
A vibrant, zippy variation of the modern classic Paper Plane that swaps bourbon for blanco tequila and adds an optional barspoon of maraschino.
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Blanco tequila
- 0.75 oz Amaro Nonino
- 0.75 oz Aperol
- 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
- 1 barspoon Maraschino liqueur — Optional highlight
Story
In our exploration of tequila and Nonino, you suggested this riff on the Paper Plane as a citrus-forward alternative. Because I’d specifically asked about Maraschino, we added a barspoon of it here to provide a high-note finish to the original recipe.
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin.
- Add ice and shake until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe.
Notes
- The Maraschino elevates the finish with a subtle cherry-blossom note that lingers after the citrus.
- The base Paper Plane is equal parts bourbon / Nonino / Aperol / lemon — this swaps the bourbon for blanco tequila for a brighter expression.
