Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Blanco tequila
  • 0.75 oz Amaro Nonino
  • 0.75 oz Aperol
  • 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 barspoon Maraschino liqueur — Optional highlight

Story

In our exploration of tequila and Nonino, you suggested this riff on the Paper Plane as a citrus-forward alternative. Because I’d specifically asked about Maraschino, we added a barspoon of it here to provide a high-note finish to the original recipe.

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin.
  2. Add ice and shake until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe.

Notes

  • The Maraschino elevates the finish with a subtle cherry-blossom note that lingers after the citrus.
  • The base Paper Plane is equal parts bourbon / Nonino / Aperol / lemon — this swaps the bourbon for blanco tequila for a brighter expression.
