Golden Cenote
A savory stirred tequila cocktail pairing reposado tequila and Yellow Chartreuse with nutty sherry and citrus oils.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Reposado tequila
- 0.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
- 0.5 oz Amontillado sherry — Fino sherry can be substituted for a drier version
- 1 dash Orange bitters
Story
After the Desert Canary, you asked for a couple more riffs using tequila and Yellow Chartreuse. This version became the stirred, spirit-forward branch of the conversation: reposado tequila for warmth, sherry for salinity and nuttiness, and Yellow Chartreuse as the floral herbal core.
Method
- Chill a Nick & Nora or small coupe glass.
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with cubed ice.
- Stir until thoroughly chilled and diluted.
- Strain into the chilled glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or thin dehydrated orange slice.
