Desert Canary
A bright tequila and Yellow Chartreuse cocktail sharpened with dry vermouth, lime, and grapefruit oils for a crisp herbal finish.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Blanco tequila
- 0.5 oz Yellow Chartreuse
- 0.5 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
- 0.25 oz Fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Orange bitters
- 1 bar spoon Agave syrup — Optional for additional richness
Story
You asked for a unique tequila and Yellow Chartreuse recipe after refining the Monkey 47 drink. The first direction avoided a Margarita structure and instead focused on an elegant, herbal agave cocktail built around Yellow Chartreuse’s softer honeyed profile. Dry vermouth and bitters were added to keep the drink crisp rather than sweet.
Method
- Chill a coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice.
- Shake hard for 10–12 seconds until chilled and lightly aerated.
- Double strain into the chilled glass.
- Express a grapefruit twist over the drink and use as garnish if desired.
Notes
-
- Agave syrup is optional and was included in the original concept as a richness adjustment.
