Rosita
A tequila-driven Negroni variation combining sweet and dry vermouth with Campari for a bitter, herbal, polished aperitif.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Reposado tequila
- 1/2 oz Sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz Dry vermouth
- 1/2 oz Campari
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
Story
As the recommendations broadened from martini-style tequila drinks into more bitter and complex territory, this became the clear aperitif option. I framed it as “essentially a tequila Negroni served up,” which anchored the expectation immediately: herbal, bitter, and spirit-forward, but softer and earthier because of the reposado tequila and split vermouth structure.
Method
- Chill a coupe thoroughly.
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until chilled and properly diluted.
- Strain into the chilled coupe.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
Notes
- “Angostura bitters” is included in ingredients but omitted from spirits because bitters are usually categorized separately from bottled spirits and modifiers.
