A mellowed, honeyed riff on the classic herbal gin sour, swapping sharp Green Chartreuse for the warmer, spice-driven notes of Luxardo Del Santo.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Gin — Plymouth or a citrus-forward style preferred
- 0.75 oz Coffee liqueur — Luxardo Del Santo recommended
- 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice

This drink emerged from a query about how to adapt the high-octane Spring Feeling for a softer palate. The original classic relies on the 110-proof intensity of Green Chartreuse, which can overwhelm the other components. By shifting to Luxardo Del Santo, we moved the profile away from medicinal anise and toward a rounder, honeyed spice profile that plays beautifully with citrus.
Method
- Add gin, Del Santo, and lemon juice to a shaker with plenty of ice.
- Shake vigorously for ~15 seconds until well chilled.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or a single slapped mint leaf.
