Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Gin — Plymouth or a citrus-forward style preferred
  • 0.75 oz Coffee liqueur — Luxardo Del Santo recommended
  • 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice

Story

This drink emerged from a query about how to adapt the high-octane Spring Feeling for a softer palate. The original classic relies on the 110-proof intensity of Green Chartreuse, which can overwhelm the other components. By shifting to Luxardo Del Santo, we moved the profile away from medicinal anise and toward a rounder, honeyed spice profile that plays beautifully with citrus.

Method

  1. Add gin, Del Santo, and lemon juice to a shaker with plenty of ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for ~15 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Double strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist or a single slapped mint leaf.

Notes

  • Del Santo is lower-proof than Chartreuse — the 1.5:0.75:0.75 ratio ensures the liqueur stays in the foreground rather than disappearing.
