White Monastic
A refined Hendrick's gin and blanc vermouth cocktail lifted by subtle maraschino and Bénédictine accents, designed for aromatic clarity and elegance.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Hendrick's Gin
- 3/4 oz blanc vermouth
- 1 barspoon maraschino liqueur
- 1 barspoon Bénédictine
- 1 dash orange bitters
Story
This cocktail came out of your request for interesting gin and blanc vermouth combinations after we had already been exploring more spirit-forward rye builds. I initially suggested simpler martini structures with Hendrick’s, but the direction shifted when we introduced maraschino and Bénédictine as subtle modifiers rather than dominant sweeteners.
The result was a more layered, aromatic drink that still respected the delicacy of Hendrick’s botanical profile. It sits alongside the rye-based cocktails we built, but moves toward clarity and floral lift rather than spice and weight.
Method
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until very cold and well integrated. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Express a lemon peel over the drink and discard.
Notes
- Hendrick’s floral character requires restraint—small measures of liqueur preserve balance. Best served well-chilled to emphasize botanical precision.
