Ingredients

  • 1 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.5 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  • 0.25 oz Orgeat
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters — Optional
  • 1 pinch Sea salt — Optional

Story

After exploring sours and swizzles, the conversation returned to stirred drinks with the idea of an Old Fashioned built around orgeat and Chartreuse. Replacing traditional sugar with almond syrup gave the drink a richer texture and softer finish while keeping the herbal intensity intact.

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with cubed ice.
  2. Stir until chilled and slightly diluted.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large cube.
  4. Express a lemon peel over the drink and garnish.

Notes

  • The optional sea salt subtly boosts the almond and herbal notes.
