Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Gin
  • 0.75 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.75 oz Maraschino liqueur
  • 0.75 oz Fresh lime juice

Story

When I asked for interesting gin and maraschino combinations, the Last Word was a mandatory inclusion. You suggested it as a shift from the floral Aviation toward a more intense, herbaceous profile. It’s the gold standard for equal-parts cocktails and the bridge for anyone who wants something punchier.

Method

  1. Combine gin, Green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Fill with ice and shake hard for 12–15 seconds.
  3. Double strain into a chilled coupe to ensure no ice shards remain.
  4. Garnish with a cherry dropped to the bottom of the glass.

Notes

  • The balance relies on the high proof of Green Chartreuse — substituting it significantly changes the character.
