Last Word
A sharp, herbaceous equal-parts masterpiece featuring Green Chartreuse and maraschino, known for its complex flavor and striking pale-green color.
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Gin
- 0.75 oz Green Chartreuse
- 0.75 oz Maraschino liqueur
- 0.75 oz Fresh lime juice
Story
When I asked for interesting gin and maraschino combinations, the Last Word was a mandatory inclusion. You suggested it as a shift from the floral Aviation toward a more intense, herbaceous profile. It’s the gold standard for equal-parts cocktails and the bridge for anyone who wants something punchier.
Method
- Combine gin, Green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake hard for 12–15 seconds.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe to ensure no ice shards remain.
- Garnish with a cherry dropped to the bottom of the glass.
Notes
- The balance relies on the high proof of Green Chartreuse — substituting it significantly changes the character.
