Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Blanc vermouth
  • 0.25 oz Elderflower liqueur — Yellow Chartreuse can substitute
  • 1 dash Orange bitters

Story

Once mezcal entered the conversation, the focus became balancing smoke against the soft floral quality of blanc vermouth. This recipe emerged as the restrained, elegant mezcal option — lighter than a Negroni riff and more aromatic than an agave martini.

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with cubed ice.
  2. Stir until chilled and integrated.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Notes

    • Yellow Chartreuse was suggested as an alternate modifier during development.
    • Dual glassware options were part of the original concept.
