Ingredients

  • 1 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Blanc vermouth
  • 0.75 oz Suze — Salers or Cocchi Americano also work

Story

After you specifically asked for drinks using mezcal, the conversation naturally drifted toward white Negroni territory. This version kept the smoke restrained and let blanc vermouth soften the gentian bitterness into something earthy, bright, and highly drinkable.

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir until cold and properly diluted.
  3. Strain over a large cube in a rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Notes

    • Suze was the primary recommendation; Salers and Cocchi Americano were discussed as alternates.
